 2 x 6 floor joists
are placed perpendicular to the
I-beams at least 16” on center add strength.
- Novodeck or Plywood decking is used and the entire
floor is secured to the heavy duty frame using large lag screws.
- Reinforced bottom boards form a moisture and
air infiltration barrier.
- Insulation under the floor and around water
lines and ductwork forms an energy efficient blanket.
- Kitchen and bathroom floors are waterproofed
for protection. Any hole made in the floor that is required for plumbing
has extra sealant.
- The full length sheets of Novodeck will allow
our floors to have 45 - 50% fewer seams.
- Where plywood is used in a transverse floor
system, the 4' x8' plywood sheets are staggered - preventing a
continuous seem - which adds more strength to the floor.
- A no-wax vinyl one piece floor covering is
installed in the kitchen and utility room. It has a thickness of 20 mil,
which is thicker and stronger than most floor coverings.
